Tesla Brought the House Down in Orlando March 7th!

That "house" being the House of Blues close to the 'House of Mouse' in Disney Springs.

While Bike Week roared in Daytona we drove over to find some roar of our own in one of our favorite bands, Tesla! We were escaping one roar and replacing it with another one. As the name of this tour suggests, they definitely KEPT IT REAL at the House of Blues, Orlando. They never disappoint, and as the song says, "it's getting better every day" !

What's in a name? Now almost exclusively known as 'Tesla the band', especially on social media, which we would only assume is in an effort to squash any confusion between the name of a certain car manufacturer. But, Tesla, whenever brought up in conversation, with us rockers who grew up with their music, knew Tesla was just "Tesla", one of our favorite hard rock and bands, period.

Tesla is a band whose performances show they have energy to spare up on that stage. Jeff made mention about the number of years they've been rockin', over 40 years, yet you never see signs of slowing from them. Each member, totally dedicated to bringing their part of this rock experience to the fans each show with enthusiasm and talent that is just beyond!

Tesla is Jeff Keith lead singer, Frank Hannon & Dave Rude on guitars, Brian Wheat playing bass and piano, and a newer addition on drums, Steve Brown. Here is a little tidbit about Steve, he is actually the brother of Mick Brown, drummer for another hard rockin' band, and one of my personal favorites, Dokken. When you watch him, you can see that the brothers share the same style and enthusiasm behind the drums.

Their next stop was the Monsters of Rock Cruise, which left out of Florida 3 days later, with a boat full of some of the biggest music fans around. I'm sure that was a week not to be forgotten!

At the time the doors opened the line stretched all the way around to the back of the venue but moved quickly through the doors with fans clamoring for the best spots or their favorite spots. Just prior to the band hitting stage, through the speakers, we heard snippets of their musical Journey through the years as if we were flipping through the stations of an antique Radio. It was so unique and I'd never heard an intro like it.

One thing that will always hit close to home and in many hearts is a dedication to our military and their dedicated service to our country. Tesla did that with the song "What You Give", bringing huge cheers from our crowd.

The House of Blues Orlando has hosted Tesla so many times in the past, it's becoming a second home and we love to see them here. It was a completely packed, sold out show, as usual, and even as we fans get a little older, we are still rockin' and singing along to every song like teenagers again.

I have to admit, being in the pit photographing when one of MY all time favorites is played, "Modern Day Cowboy", is one of the best experiences ever. Except for the fact I want to dance, but that isn't conducive to a good photographic outcome! LOL

The fans were treated to all of their favorite hits, "Hang Tough", "Signs", "Little Suzi" and "Long Song" (whose video surpassed 100 million views this past January), some deeper cuts like, "Miles Away" and "Call It What You Want", a from the new release, "All About Love" & "Walk Away". The new release, 'All About Love' came out in November, 2024.

The tour is still zigzagging across our great land bringing 'song and emotion', as the song goes, to the masses. Be sure to catch them in a city near you and be sure to get those tickets early!
